Welcome to Matchday Champions! This guide will walk you through the first and matches, ensuring you’re off to a flyer.

1: Your Squad comes READY to PLAY!

We’ve made sure every Matchday Champions player starts with enough footballer cards to jump immediately in to their first match.

In fact - you should jump right into your first match right away. Tap on  the play button and let the game take you into the action.

2: Get to Know Your Players

During that first match – you’ll see footballer cards from both sides pop up as they are involved in the action on the pitch. This is the start of getting to know your squad. Check out the post match screen as any XP earned is delivered, especially the Player of the Match!

3: Understanding OVR – Your Players’ Ratings

Each player has a number displayed under their name – this is their OVR (Overall Rating). The OVR. In short, the higher the number, the better the player’s performance. This will help you when making decisions of where to upgrade.

4: Daily Drills – The Key to Progressing

After your first match, head to the Daily Drills section. These are small tasks that you can complete to start earning coins. Coins are key to improving your squad, as they’ll allow you to purchase better players (and upgrade the ones you already have).

5: Check Out Daily Deals in the Shop

Once you’ve gathered some coins, head over to the Daily Deals in the shop. Here, you’ll find a personalised selection of footballer cards that are available to buy. You might already be able to snag a solid player or upgrade someone in your squad already!

Don’t worry about holding onto your coins too tightly – you’ll be earning more coins every time you play, so spend away to strengthen your squad early on.

6: Jump Into More Matches!

Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to jump back into more matches! The more matches you play, the more experience you’ll gain, and of course, the more rewards you’ll earn.

Winning matches helps you climb the divisions, unlocking even greater rewards along the way.

As you progress through the game, you’ll be able to continuously upgrade your squad, making them stronger and more competitive with each step.
